Septic pumping & service in Plain City, Ohio
On the Madison–Union county line, so check which health district covers you.
Plain City straddles the Madison and Union county line, northwest of Dublin. The village itself is largely sewered, but the surrounding countryside, in Darby, Jerome and Canaan townships, has many homes on septic. Because of the county line, which health department oversees your system depends on which side your property sits: the Union County Health Department, or Madison County Public Health. Check your property tax bill or county auditor record.
If you're on the Union County side
- Five-year operation permits ($50, or $10 per year; current cycle 2025–2029).
- Annual inspections for many aerator and discharging systems, met through a registered provider contract, owner registration, or a UCHD inspection.
If you're on the Madison County side
Madison County Public Health runs its own O&M program under the same statewide rules (OAC 3701-29). Contact them for your permit schedule. Any contractor servicing your system must be registered with that district.
Common needs
- Pumping for farmhouse and large-lot systems.
- Aerator service in newer developments along the Union County side.
- Evaluations for property sales, which are common as the Dublin–Jerome corridor grows.
